WDACC
Western Districts Association of Camera Clubs
WDACC commenced in the 1970’s, with around 10 clubs taking part each year, the most constant supporters being Dubbo, Orange, Bathurst, Young, Harden Murrumburra, Parkes, Grenfell, Cudgegong, Blayney, Narrandera, Hay Shutterbugs, Goulburn & Narromine.
All clubs in the area west of the mountains and south of Coonabarrabran who are members of the FCC (Federation of Camera Clubs NSW) are invited to participate. Other smaller groups are encouraged to attend the Interclub weekend which is held in August or September each year.
FCC provides sponsorship on request, and FCC judges are often asked to officiate.
Host clubs set the agenda for the year. They decide if there will be both digital and print competitions, or one or the other, set the sections and themes or subjects and engage independent judges and set the fees for participation.
The Interclub get together can be a one or two day event, with the agenda, speakers and workshops chosen by the host club. The results of any competitions are announced at the Interclub.
Usually around 40 people attend, depending on distance needing to be travelled.
